Milling Stop-Motion (tentative) — Open Production
A stop-motion animation made by milling blocks of material, one frame at a time.
Throughout Assembling Anew: Memories, Materials, Context, Technology — Contemporary Japanese Photography vol.23 at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, the gallery doubles as a workshop: a milling machine and a box-shaped motion-control rig about 1,800 mm on each side sit in the room, and shooting continues during the exhibition. The finished piece, set to music, will be a few minutes long.
